Common
Medical Conditions and Health Problems: Diarrhea
| |
It is important to keep in mind that
diarrhea is not actually a disease itself but it is a
symptom of a potentially serious problem.
Normal gecko stools are comprised of two parts:
- Brown to black coloured feces.
- Urates that are whitish and chalky or solid in
consistency.
Please read our Disclaimer
before reading any further into these common problems. As
with any medical problem, we strongly recommend that you
immediately contact your veterinarian for assistance. |

- Diarrhea is defined by an excessive quantity of soft
or liquid feces.
- May contain blood or even mucus.
- May be discoloured (see above for normal colouration).
- Foul or even a potentially sour odor.
- May be associated with vomiting.

quarantine
and disinfection
techniques are absolutely necessary.
