Leopard Gecko Special Health Topics: Gecko First Aid Kit
  Introduction
  If you keep a leopard gecko, or any other reptile for that matter as a pet, its always a good idea to keep a properly stocked first aid kit readily available.  You never know when you might need some of these items before you can safely transport your gecko to the vet.  

What we have included here is a list of the items that we keep in our easily accessible first aid kit.

Mini flashlight

Helps to see the medical problem easier.

Sharp scissors

Cut tape etc...

Tweezers

Remove objects that fingers cannot reach.

Disposable latex gloves

For proper hygiene.

Mineral oil

Helps loosen retained shed.

Sterile saline

Washes out eyes, cuts, looses retained shed.

Tape

Holds splints, bandages, loose appendages.

Gauze

Protects wounds; keeps ointments in place.

Cotton swabs

For application of ointments, cleansing agents etc..

Cleansing agents

Washes out wounds.  Betadine, Nolvasan etc..

Topical antibiotic ointments

Promotes healing and prevents infection. Neosporin etc

Notepad and pen

Keep notes to be reviewed with your vet.

Towel

For handling and stabilizing gecko.

Heating pads

For heat during transportation, during treatments etc..

Hot water bottle

For heat during transportation to your vet.
