Leopard Geckos and Veterinary Care
  An Introduction
Having access to a veterinarian qualified to, and experienced in treating leopard geckos is key to raising a healthy leopard gecko.  Your vet can easily be you and your gecko's best friend by helping to prevent health problems from developing, as well as properly treating your gecko should something happen.

Dr. Gecko strongly recommends that you have ensure you have access to such a vet BEFORE you bring home a gecko - this could save you valuable time in the event of the emergency.

Some people like to bring their new pet into the vet for a quick checkup which also allows your vet to familiarize themselves with the specific gecko.  At the very least you should have a fecal exam (typically 3 consecutive fecals are actually recommended) done as soon as you bring home a new pet.
